The producer, director and actor JD Majhetia’s latest fiction serial on star plus ‘Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum’ reflects a slice of everyday life with its superlative content and classic but endearing characters. To add on to the authenticity of the show and its characters, the multi talented JD Majhetia has brought in “Chakda” a local transport vehicle available only in some parts of Gujarat for the shoot of ‘Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum’. The show airs from Mon - Fri, 7.30 pm only on Star Plus. The recent storyline required the Popat family to travel in some local transport while on their way to the temple festival. The perfectionist that JD is, he didn’t settle on any other easily available options of three wheelers and made sure that his team used only the “Chakda” in the scene. Procuring a “chakda” in Mumbai is not possible due to logistical constraints so the team decided to build their very own “chakda” right here in Mumbai. That’s not all, the Mahotsav festivity has also given a reason to celebrate on ‘Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum’. The viewers will soon witness the madness of Mahotsav, the temple festival. Parakh Madan who plays Krishna will present an excellent Kathak dance to celebrate this occasion. Parakh is having quite a delightful time on the sets these days - the thorough bred Maharashtrain girl loves gujarati food and can’t seem to stop licking her fingers after every meal. During breaks, she takes cooking tips from Gujarati cookbooks to hone her skills in preparing her favorite dishes too. Not only that, Parakh is also learning to speak Gujarati, since it would help her in playing the role of a gujarati girl. She’s a quick learner and also having most of the cast and crew speak Gujarati is helping her master the language faster. A recent visitor on the sets really thought she was a gujarati and had a long conversation with her in Gujarati, much to the amusement of others on the sets. Parakh played on and not once did the visitor guess that she was acting the part of a Gujarati.

Parakh Madan (Krishna) and Ashutosh Kulkarni (Jay) of BBHBBH are soon going to be performing at the temple festival. Parakh who plays Krishna is not only a very talented actress but also a trained kathak dancer. Ashutosh on the other hand is musically inclined but it is his first rendezvous with playing an instrument. Ashutosh is actually taking Tabla lessons these days to enhance his tabla playing skills so that it looks natural when he is playing it for the performance. Both are seen practicing in their free time on the sets these days. Producer J D Majethia is a stickler for perfection and the cast ensure he isn’t unhappy with their dedication in enacting their characters.

Bhaskar Bharti on Sony..

Recently, it was reported in a publication that the two handsome hunks Eijaz Khan and Aamir Ali will be seen together for the first time in Deeya and Tony Singh's upcoming show titled 'Bhaskar Bharti'. However, the channel was not mentioned in the report.

Bhaskar Bharti has a very interesting concept which has been kept under wraps. The show will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television, which will undergo a revamp on May 25th. This show is tipped to be one of the top-running shows on the channel post its makeover.

Some of the other shows launching on Sony are Rani Padmini of Chittod, Palampur Express, Ladies Special.

Ragini Khanna who played the middle sister in Tony and Deeya's show on NDTV Imagine, Radha Ki Betiyaan Kuchh Kar Dikhayengi will be seen essaying an important role in Bhaskar Bharti.

We called actress Ragini, but she just said, "I cannot comment on it now".

Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahi on Star One..

Star One's upcoming show produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms, tentatively titled 'Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahi' has been in the news for quite sometime now. The show which was to start way before IPL got postponed, and is now on course to go on floors from next week.

The tale will be about three sisters and three brothers who will have their own individual stories going. And as per the recent developments, Himmanshoo Malhotra, Chandana Sharma and Gaurav Khanna will essay the lead roles in the show.

Priya Bhatija was almost finalized to play the eldest of the three sisters, but there is a change now and it will be Chandana Sharma essaying the role. Her love interest in the show will be Himmanshoo, but a love triangle will be formed with Gaurav Khanna as the story progresses.

Priya Bhatija, confirmed this news and said, "Yes, I was about to do the show. But I could not take it up due to some crisis".

Chandana who came into limelight with Star One's Yeh Dil Chahe More was also seen anchoring Imagine Showbiz on NDTV Imagine and was part of 9X show Dhak Dhak in Dubai.Himmanshoo will be seen entering Sahara One's Shubh Kadam as the second lead very soon, and has been seen in Simply Sapney, Jiya Jale and Champ.

Gaurav Khanna when asked said, "I really do not know anything. I can't comment now".

The show is slated to launch post IPL in the prime time slot.

Ali Asgar on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa..

In the coming episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 3, popular television actor Ali Asgar will be the center of attraction, as he came, danced and won the hearts of the Teen Deviyaan... With the theme being songs of the 60's, Ali conned the avatars of Rishi Kapoor, Raj Kumar and Aamir Khan.

Ali Asgar was the special guest who entertained the judges as well as the contestants with his humorous act in the show.

He brought the house down with his Rishi Kapoor and Aamir Khan acts. He even did the Basanti act with aplomb. He is the only guest who could entice not just one, but all the judges on the floor to dance with him. His Raaj Kumar act with Saroj Khan was a scream.

His gags were outstanding. The actor showed his funny side and made everyone laugh. With the battle on the dance floor getting tougher, he proved to be the perfect foil for fultoo entertainment on the sets.

Lubna Salim in Specials @ 10...

Lubna Salim famously known as Leela Bhabhi of Baa Bahu Aur Baby is back on screen, and will play a very important role in Madhur Bhandarkar's series 'Niyati' in Sony's Specials @ 10.

The tale is about two sisters, Madhu and Niyati who are estranged for 15 years as the elder sister, Madhu was in jail. Niyati grows to become a human rights activist lawyer and is played by Aashka Goradia. Playing the elder sister Madhu is Lubna Salim who gets free from the State Prison after 15 long years.

Madhu aims to settle scores with her sister Niyati as she holds her responsible for her 15 year ordeal. 15 years ago, Madhu was the one who rescued Niyati from their evil father's clutches by stabbing him. Niyati gives evidence in the court of the incident which results in Madhu's imprisonment. Madhu confronts Niyati saying that 15 years ago life gave her an opportunity to become a lawyer and have a life of her own, while time stood still for Madhu as she paid a price for saving her own sister from a man who was packed with evil intentions. Niyati is confused whether to trust this woman whom she thought to be a culprit or was she the culprit in this woman's eyes?

A very excited Lubna said, "It was great to be shooting for this series. The story is about two sisters, and the focus is on today's problem in society, child abuse and sex. I play a simple and timid girl while Aashka is the complete opposite of me, and is very bubbly".

Lubna had a great time working with Director Ashok Pandit. "We know each other for quite long and our association goes back to our theater days. It was so nice of Ashok uncle to have thought about me and offered me a role. I agreed to do the role even without reading the script, and that is what our relation is".

Cha-cha-cha for Karan Singh Grover..

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 3 goes down the memory lane this week wherein the contestants danced to the Golden Era of Music of the 60's. However, the favorite of all Karan Singh Grover and Nicole had a bad day in office.

According to our source, "Karan and Shilpa Shukla were in the bottom two. Karan performed on the dance form called Cha-cha-cha on the Dev Anand number ' Maana Janaab Ne Pukaara Nahi'. His entry was very filmy as he entered in a cycle, but ultimately failed to impress the judges".

"The teen deviyaan couldn't find anything new in their performance. Saroj Khan stated that the performance was good but there were no new steps. Vaibhavi said that they could have done better than this. Juhi added that the X-factor was missing in their performance and the duo should concentrate more as the competition is getting tougher day by day", adds our source.

Shilpa also gave a very thanda performance. "While Karan scored 22, Shilpa scored less than him", concludes our source.

Seeta Aur Geeta from May 25th on Imagine..

The long-awaited remake of the Hema Malini starrer Seeta Aur Geeta is scheduled to launch on May 25th on NDTV Imagine..

NDTV Imagine's long awaited remake of the famous Hema Malani double role starrer Seeta Aur Geeta will finally see the light of the day on 25th May.

Lead actress Anjorie Alagh confirmed the news.However she refused to comment on the time slot saying that the channel will take a final call.

According to our source, a final call on the time slot is yet to be taken. Anjorie, the heroine of 1920 does not feel that the delay will affect the show. "All that finally matters is good quality", quips the actress who happens to be the daughter of Maya Alagh. The show first got pushed back due to Mouni Roy being replaced by Anjorie as the lead girl. Secondly IPL has prevented launch of most new shows across all channels.

It is also heard that Rituraj Singh is doing an important role in the show. This talented actor who was last seen in Yahan ke Hum Sikandar confirmed the same saying, "I will be joining hands with Sushmita Mukherjee (both essay husband wife) to make Seeta's life hell. My character Mahendra Singh Rahtod is quite a loud villain when compared to the original film where Satyen Kappu played an insipid character and was cast opposite Manorama. This was one reason why I was reluctant when this offer came to me, but the creatives convinced me that they have changed the script and I will have meat". Rituraj further informs that the character of his brother-in-law which Ranjit played in the original film will be essayed by Amitosh Nagpal.

Both Rituraj and Anjorie don't feel that the show will soon fizzle out given the original content was only for three hours. "We are confident that we will not drag as fresh tracks will be developed with time", echo the actors.

Rituraj also rejected rumors that Anjorie was chosen because of her family connections to Sameer Nair(CEO NDTV Imagine). "She got the role because she deserved it", said the actor. He also confirmed that Mouni Roy was indeed dropped from the show, but declined to talk about the reason.

Anjorie refused to comment on her entering as second choice by saying, "I did not even know about her when I auditioned".

We called up Producer Sunil Bohra who said, "The show will be launching in the end of May. The time slot has not been decided yet".

The show will see the comeback of Cezanne Khan in Sanjeev Kumar's role, while the versatile Rahil Azam essays the role played by Dharmendra.

Another love track in Bandini?

After Kadambari and Sandeep's love track in NDTV Imagine's Bandini, the story line is all set to focus on yet another romantic path. As per the present story line, the handsome hunk Hiten Mahiavanshi (Mrunal Jain) and the chulbuli Khemi (Leena Jhumani) are all set for a new rapport in the show.

Now that Kadambari's engagement is over, the story line will focus on Hiten and Khemi. There are possibilities of their rapport being taken to another level in the show.

Elaborating on the story line, Initially the two will fight a lot but as episodes proceed, they turn into thick friends.

Will they fall in love? There are chances, but the creatives are still thinking on that.

Hiten essays the role of Dharamraj Mahiavanshi's (Ronit Roy) son while Khemi is the elder sister of Santo (Aasiya Kazi).

Dev and Radhika come face to face..

The wait is finally over, as Dev (Avinash Sachdev) and Radhika (Rubina Bilaik) will come face to face on 28th April in the one hour Special Episode in Zee's Choti Bahu.

As per our source, "The main gist of the special episode is that Dev will finally see his dream girl Radhika".

Elaborating on the story line, our khabroo adds, "Radhika is busy preparing for the wedding of Dev and Vishaka when Dev accidentally sees Radhika's reflection in water. This gives him a shock of his life".

This is where Dev gets to know that the girl he is madly in love with is none other than Vishaka's sister Radhika. However, he is still unaware of the marriage that has taken place between him and Radhika.

"There are many questions that Dev wants to ask Radhika, but she keeps silent throughout. However, the twist comes when Radhika finally breaks her silence and tells Dev that she never loved him", adds our source.

Radhika finds her sister's married life on one side and the love of her husband on the other. The girl will be in a dilemma as to what to do next.

Says our source, "The track of Radhika's identity being hidden from Dev went on for long. The channel and production house want to end this hide and seek game and be loyal to the viewers".

As of now, one can see emotions flowing this Tuesday(28th April) when Dev and Radhika come face to face in Choti Bahu's one hour episode at 7.30 PM..

Choti Bahu completes 100 episodes..

Zee's successful show Choti Bahu, produced by DJ's reached their first milestone on 24th April...

Zee's Choti Bahu, produced by DJ's Creations completed 100 episodes on April 24th, and the unit celebrated the occasion by cutting cakes on the sets.

It was a memorable day for the entire unit as they have become the #1 show of the channel in such a short span of time. Rubina Bilaik, Avinash Sachdev, Priyanka and Rita Bhaduri cut the cake along with the crew members. The unit and cast is going thro' a hectic schedule as of now, but plans to party hard whenever they get time.

Avinash aka Dev expressed his happiness on completion of 100 episodes. "It's come so quickly, and we are all happy to have completed 100 episodes. It looks as though we started shooting just recently, and here we have crossed our first milestone. We became the #1 show on the channel during our 25th episode, and now at the completion of 100, we still continue to be at the top. I request the audience to shower all their love and co-operation on our show", states Avinash.

On the track ahead, Avinash hints, "In the next seven episodes, there will be a twist happening, and the viewers will see Dev smiling again".

Priyanka who essays the role of Vishaka says, "I am really happy, and if we get the support of viewers, we will have a rocking party at the completion of 1000 episodes. We have been toiling hard to give our best, and I know that God is seeing our efforts and will surely bless us. There are lots of twists to come, and I request our viewers to keep glued".

Rubina aka Radhika quips, "We celebrated the day very well. I cannot express my feelings at the moment. This is my very first show, and it has been a hit. The best part is that we have maintained our numbers till the 100th episode".

Thakur family to be introduced in Agle Janam...

Zee's Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, produced by Swastik Pictures will now see some new faces besides Laali and her family. Very soon, a new family will be introduced in the show where Laali (Ratan Rajput) will be sold.

According to our source, "Laali's life will see a setback when she will be sold to a rich Thakur family. And the popular faces who will be part of the family are Sudesh Berry, Rupa Ganguly, Sushmita Mukherjee, Sachal Tyagi and Surbhi Tiwari".

Elaborating on the characters ,Sudesh Berry and Rupa Ganguly are a couple. Sudesh is essaying a negative role while Rupa is positive. Sushmita's character also has a negative shade as she plays Dai Maa in the show.

Sachal and Surbhi are again a couple. Sachal is the eldest son of Sudesh while the younger one, who will go on to play the male protaginist in the show is yet to be finalized.

Sudesh Berry is seen in Swastik Pictures show on Sahara One, Mata Ki Chowki while Rupa Ganguly was seen playing the role of Kasturi's mother in the Star Plus show. Sushmita is known to one and all as Kitty of Karamchand. Surbhi who used to play the central character in Shagun is presently seen in COLORS Rahe Teraa Aashirwad. Sachal essays the character of Moksh in Mata Ki Chowki.

The production house has been auditioning known faces as well as new faces.They have not yet found the perfect guy to play this role.

Finally, it's curtains to COLORS' Rahe Tera Aashirwad, produced by Jai Mehtaa.

Talks of the show getting an extension were on, but eventually the D-day has arrived when the story will wrap up.

According to our source, "After getting an extension of a month the last telecast date has now been announced to the unit. 1st May will be the last telecast date, and the show will have a happy ending".

According to the track, "Maa comes down in the form of Bhakti (Snigdha Srivastava) and changes everyone in the house. Bhakti eventually succeeds in turning the family members positive. Shahbaaz Khan who played the male lead's dad in the show starts believing in God, and is thankful to Bhakti for guiding him to the right path".

Sreejita and Rashmi Desai in Uttaran

Sreejita De, who had earlier played the lead in Star One's Annu Ki Hogayee Wah Bhai Wah and Rashmi Desai, of Pari Hoon Main fame have bagged meaty roles in one of the top rated shows of COLORS, Uttaran.

It was first heard about Uttaran going for a leap post IPL, and here we give you the news of the grown-up versions of Ichcha and Tapasya.

According to our source, "Ichcha's role will be played by Sreejita while Rashmi will essay Tapasya's role. Ichcha who has had dreams of changing her fate and live happily grows up to be a simple yet beautiful girl, while Tapasya will be the glamorous and self-centred girl".

If sources are to be believed, the girls will fall in love with the same guy which will eventually add a grey shade to Tapasya's character.

The post leap shoot will start from the first week of May, and the leap will be aired soon after IPL, probably in the last week of May.

"There was also a buzz of Uttaran being changed to a time slot of 7, but the last few weeks have been very good in terms of numbers for the show, and this in fact might prompt the channel and production house to stick to the present 10 PM slot", adds our source.

It is also heard that the channel is working out a good promotional strategy for the leap of Uttaran, and hoardings of the girls will be put up soon. Also, the title track will be shot with the leading girls in the next few days.

Even though the little girls in the show will be missed, the leap will surely be welcomed by viewers!!

'One morning it dawned to me that I need to move on' - Sharad Malhotra

The news of Sharad Malhotra quitting his successful debut show on Zee, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann has come as a shocker to his fans and viewers.

As recent reports suggest, the actor has decided to move on and aims to learn more things.

Sharad Malhotra accepts that he is leaving Dulhann. "Yes, it is true that I have decided to move on. I am part of the show till the end of April", says Sharad.

The actor aims to rejuvenate himself and learn more, probably behind the camera. "I believe that one should know himself very well. I now know myself as an actor, and would want to know the camera and know how it is to work behind the camera", states the actor.

Ask him whether the reason to quit Dulhann is because he has got a Bollywood project, and he immediately refuses, "No, I have not got anything as of now. But I am trying hard to get into Bollywood. I really do not know what is in store for me next. I might take up a nice course, or assist someone before getting back on screen. Before all this, I plan to go home and spend some time with my family".

Elaborating on what prompted him to opt out of the show, he states, "I had a blast in Dulhann. I gained enormous support from fans, and know they will be there with me in this decision too. I had been thinking of calling it a day for a month or so. But one fine morning, it dawned to me that this is the right time to move on and look for better prospects. I had a word with my production house and channel. They were really considerate and gave their acceptance to the decision. My co-stars were initially taken aback, but now have got to terms with it".

According to reports, the show will be pulled off any time after IPL, so couldn't Sharad have waited till it reached its end? "Well, I can only say one thing. You can stretch a rubber band only till a limit, and it will break after a certain point. Same was the case with me. I also believed that every show has its peak phase after which it has to come down. We need to accept this theory wholeheartedly. I have come across many friends and fans who were telling me that the story of Dulhann has gone stale and they are not enjoying it anymore. Whatever it was, we were and still are giving our 100% to make it better. This is surely not the end of me in Dulhann; I have few more days to go and I will work hard till my last day".

Ask him how Divyanka reacted to his decision, and the actor quips, "She was also shocked in the beginning. But then she realizes that I need to move on and look for more opportunities".

When asked about Divyanka's future in the show, Sharad states, "She will stay on for some more time, I think".

Tell him that his on screen chemistry with her will be missed by their fans, and the optimistic actor chides, "This is not the end of the road. You might see us together again".

Lastly, he gets speechless as he thanks his fans for all the support he has got over the last three years. "I know that I will be missed in Dulhann. But all I can say is that I will be back on screen soon, and this is a promise I make".

Here we are exclusively revealing the culprit.Its Baghi which has abducted Swati. The group of people form an anti-government outfit who want to free their leader from imprisonment.

Swati has experienced a lot of ups and downs this week but little is she aware that she is yet to face the worst. Murder of her colleague Vinita, a change of statement by the eyewitness and to top it all…. her transfer is stopped, and then she is abducted too.

Karan Wahi all set to enter new show on Colors...

Karan Wahi of Remix fame is all set for return to television with COLORS' Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari, where he plays Rajveer.

About his role....
He is a charmer who not only appeals to girls but his charisma also magnetizes to one and all. He is very close to his grand-mother, who he lovingly calls GM. Rajveer has no ambition and believes in living life to the fullest. He is a spendthrift and loves traveling a lot. One day in order to fulfill his grand-mother's desire he lands up in Amritsar with two of his friends to pray for a suitable wife for himself.

The actor has now bagged a plump role to make his debut as actor in fiction shows, and will be seen as the male lead in COLORS' upcoming show Sabki Jodi Wahi Banata..Bhagyavidhata, produced by Shreya Creations.

And as reported earlier, the female lead will be played by yet another new face to television, Richa Soni. Bhagya Vidhata will focus on a horrifying custom prevalent in Bihar wherein the marriage takes place with the groom placed at gun point by the girl's family and well-wishers.

Sony all set for revamp from May 25th..

Sony Entertainment Television is all set for a new face and a new look. The channel is going for a revamp from 25th May 2009, and the buzz is that many of the existing shows will be going off air, and some radical and fresh concepts are being chalked out to replace them.

According to our source, "Fiction shows Hum Ladkiyaan, Ek Safar Aisa.. Kabhi Socha Na Tha, Aathvaan Vachan and reality shows Comedy Circus 20 20, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa will be ending in May".

Also the unique series Specials @ 10 will also see its end during the same period.

Danish Khan, Marketing Head, Sony talked about the new strategies planned,"We are in the first phase of revamp. We have seen the audience change, so now it is our turn to change. Our revamp will happen on May 25th which will include a vast change in programming, the look and feel of the channel along with the graphical elements".

When asked him about the programming changes, he said, "We are surely launching new shows which will mean few of the existing shows will go off air. But we do not want to talk more on the programming details as of now, as we will be moving to the second phase of our strategic planning only in the first week of May".

"We promise three facets to our viewers in our new line-up which will be Novelty, Variety and Quality. We will give the viewers radical fiction concepts never seen before on Television. In realities, we will be coming up with something very unique and interesting in the coming months. May 25th will just be the beginning of a new phase, and over the next three months we will introduce many more fresh concepts", adds Danish Khan.

We tried to ponder more into the shows that might be going off air, and called production houses and actors of the shows that fall in the hit-list.

Shrishti Arya, Producer of Aathvaan Vachan says, "Well, it is the channel's decision and I have no say in this. I can just hope that I do get some place after the revamp happens in the channel".

An actor of Hum Ladkiyaan on terms of anonymity says, "We are feeling very bad as we were very much attached to the show. Now there is nothing that we can do. We are now concentrating on the tracks to end the show".

It seems as though Sony's top rated fiction show Meet Mila De Rabba still has a ray of hope for survival. "As far as I have heard, we have got an extension and we might continue. I have not heard anything about our show going off air", states the lead actor Piyush Sahdev.

But future looks bleak for Rashmi Sharma's Ek Safar Aisa… Kuch Socha Na Tha as the show has not been able to deliver numbers ever since its launch. When called Rashmi Sharma, she says, "It is true that our TRP's have dipped. But we have not been intimated by the channel on closure".

However, our source informs us that, "Meet Mila De Rabba has been fairly doing well, so there are chances that the show might not go off air. But nothing is decided yet. On the other hand, the other three shows are surely tipped to go off air".

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is tipped to end in May end. "After that there are chances of Dus Ka Dum coming back with the second season. Comedy Circus Season 3 is also in the pipeline. Palampur Express and Rani Padmini of Chittod are the two fiction shows which are in the pipeline", adds the source.

"If the buzz is to be believed, KBC is also in pipeline for Sony. Though the host has not yet been decided, it is heard that talks are going on with Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor. But everything will be finalized in May", concludes the source.

Rohit Bakshi in Rani Padmini of Chittod.

Rohit Bakshi who wooed all as Piyush in Kahiin Toh Hoga will be seen essaying the role of Rani Padmini's husband, King Ratnasen in the upcoming historical show on Sony.

Earlier, it was reported that Sony Entertainment Television is coming up with a magnum-opus historical show Rani Padmini of Chittod, which will be produced by Production Designer/Art Director turned Producer Nitin Chandrakant Desai.

A new face Tejaswini will play Rani Padmini while the popular Bollywood actor Mukesh Rishi will essay the role of Allah-ud-din Khilji.

Now adding up to this, here's an exclusive news on the male lead of the show.

Talented and known actor Rohit Bakshi will be essaying the role of Padmini's husband and the ruler of Chittod, King Ratnasen.

Ratnasen was a brave and noble warrior king, and apart from being a loving husband and a just ruler, he was also a patron of the arts.

The handsome Rohit Bakshi wooed his audiences as Piyush in Kahiin Toh Hoga. He played the dutiful son-in-law of Tulsi Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Rohit was also seen playing a grey character in Balaji Telefilms' Kaajal. Recently, he was seen playing a cameo in Kumkum and was also seen in Smriti Irani's Mere Apne on 9X.

According to our source, "The show will be a daily and will take a prime time slot. The launch of the show will happen in the last week of May, but nothing is clear about the time slot".

Parakh Madan to enter Burey Bhi Hum

Parakh Madan who essayed the role of the gutsy Inspector Monica Mogre will now play the female lead in Star Plus' recently launched show Burey Bhi Hum Bale Bhi Hum, produced by Hats Off Productions.

The unit has recently zeroed in on the name of Parakh after going through the audition phase. Promos of her entry have also been shot and will be on air very soon.

Talking about her character, She will be playing the love interest of Jay, essayed by Ashutosh Kulkarni. Jay who is a total 'Brahmachari' will eventually fall in love with this full-of-life 'Bindaas' girl and will get married. She will enter the house and set right the family.

Parakh confirmed the news, "Yes, it is true that I have bagged the role. I have started shooting too. My character name is Krishna, who is a typical Gujrathi. She is a Kathak dancer, and this falls to my advantage as I am also one in real life. This surely gives me an edge to play the character. Also, viewers will be seeing me in a completely different avatar. Krishna is a very sweet girl with all the values instilled in her".

Parakh's entry will be aired coming Monday.

Sarwar's entry in Jyoti brings a new twist.

Sarwar Ahuja is debuting in television as an actor with NDTV Imagine's Jyoti. With his entry comes another big twist which will change the life of Jyoti (Sneha Wagh).

He is entering the show as Sachin, but this is not his real identity. He is conning as he does not want Jyoti to know the truth about him.

Elaborating on the twist further he is basically the one who gives huge amount of Donation to the Ashram called Shishu Mangal. Jyoti frequently visits this ashram to spend quality time with the kids.

His real name is Pankaj and he is blind. Things do not go well between them in their first interaction, but later as the story moves, there is every chance of the two getting into a relation.

The actor will be entering the show on 21st April.

Athvaan Vachan couldn’t keep up to its promises

Indian audience have really become very choosy and smart with their taste of daily soaps as now they don’t want to see the same saas-bahu and same old stories serials. Because of the low T.R.P. most of the Balaji’s show and other shows on the idiot box had to pull down their shutters and now Athvaan Vachan the show on Sony is also going off air because of the TRP issues. It’s now high time and the scriptwriters and storywriters should pull their socks up and should come up with something which rather than boring tempt the audience to view the show. We asked Sony’s fiction head Sanjay Upadhyay and this is what he replied, “The show has been on air for a pretty long time but has not lived up to its promises. We are closely watching and have informed the producers for the same but no decision has been taken as of now.” Vishal Singh the lead actor said, “Well it’s not confirmed yet and I do not know anything.” The actors of the show are still not confirming but according to our sources it is confirm that the show is going off air and the other show which is going to replace it is also decided.

Hiten Tejwani on his role in Kitni Mohabbat Hai

Hiten tejwani became the heartthrob after playing Pratham in the serial called Kutumb on sony entertainment television. Now the actor would be entering NDTV Imagine’s Kitni Mohabbat Hai in which he is playing the character of a young music sensation. We had a brief chat with Hiten about his role and about he being very choosy these days.

Q. Tell us about your role in your new show Kitni Mohabbat Hai?
A. It’s a role of a music sensation Karan Singh. I am playing the judge of a music competition. The character of Karan has a lot of attitude and he is a bindaas type of character.

Q. How is this role different from your other roles?
A. This role is quite different from my other roles as I will have a very different look in the show unlike my other shows, I will wear more of jeans and funky clothes rather than the normal formal clothes.

Q. Tell us about your experience and tuning with the new cast and crew?
A. I have only shot for two days so I can’t say much about it but yes it’s a young fresh team and I enjoyed working with them it was a good experience altogether. And as now I have no role till ten days so I when I will start of again then I can tell you much more about my tuning and experiences.

Q. Do you think the show will gain TRP because of your entry in the show?
A. I can’t say that but yes because of my role the viewers will get to see a lot of twists and turn in the show which will make the show interesting, so may be or may not be the TRP will increase. I have always got a good response from my fans for my roles and I hope this time also, I will get a positive response from them as they will discover a new Hiten altogether.

Q. You are hardly seen on television nowadays….why?
A. Yes, I am on a self imposed break from television because I do not like the roles offered to me. This character was different and interesting so I took up this one. And if something very interesting will come in my way then only I will do that role.

Q. Gauri and your on-screen jodi has always being appreciated, so would Gauri too be paired with you in this serial?
A. Yes, I know our jodi has been appreciated quite a lot onscreen but no, Gauri won’t be paired with me in this show or in any other show as she is on a break from television these days. She is focusing more on her painting these days.

Q. What is that one thing you would like to change in the television industry?
A. Who am I to bring any change? And in fact I think I don’t want any changes. I just want that we get to work on new concepts and get to work on new and good roles.

Q. How do you manage to keep yourself so fit?
A. I follow a strict diet regime and also workout daily. I avoid outside food and prefer having home cooked food.

Q. Any Bollywood plans?
A. Yes definitely I would love to do Bollywood but only if something interesting comes my way.

Bharat Chawda back in Bandini

Bharat Chawda, the young lad who fell in love with Santo (Aasiya Kazi) earlier in NDTV Imagine's Bandini is back on the show!!

The present track focuses on the alliance of Kadambari (Prerna Wanwari) with the son of Dharamaraj Mahiavanshi's friend Meghna, named Duggu. This is a complete case of misunderstanding wherein the girl is in love with a guy called Sandeep, but is now being forced to marry Duggu.

Meghna and Dharamraj have arranged the engagement of Kadambari and Duggu, and the guy is supposed to come down to meet the girl and get engaged. The interesting twist in the story line will be that Shashank played by Bharat Chawda who had earlier fallen in love with Santo turns out to be Duggu.

According to the new story line wherein Duggu will get into a dilemma seeing Santo there. Also, Kadambari being in love with another guy confuses matters more. You will have to wait and watch to know how the story unfolds.

For the uninitiated, Shashank (Bharat Chawda) was seen in the initial episodes of Bandini wherein he had come to the village to do a research on Gujrati culture. It was then that he frequently met Santo and had fallen for her. The day he decides to propose to Santo, he realizes that she is getting married.

COLORS becomes the No. 1 GEC

As the battle for supremacy continues between Star Plus and COLORS, this time it is the recently launched channel COLORS that has emerged to be the No. 1 GEC, pushing Star Plus to the second position.

COLORS has notched 297 GRPs and secures the top position, followed by Star Plus which has 267 GRP. Zee TV occupies the third spot with 236 GRP.

According to source from the channel "Sphere Origins show Balika Vadhu has an average TVR of 5.7, while Jai Shri Krishna has an average TVR of 4.4. The recently launched shows on COLORS, are doing really well for the channel. Uttaran averages with 3.5 while Na Aana Is Desh Laado has an average TVR of 3.4.The weekend reality show Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has an average rating of 3.2 while the horror show Koi Aane Ko Hai has shown a TVR of 3.2. Last but not the least, Jeevan Saathi has an average of 2.9".

However, while COLORS has surpassed Star Plus and has emerged as the No. 1 GEC, Rajan Shahi's Bidaai remains to be the No. 1 show across all channels, with an average of 6.5 TVR, followed by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai taking the second spot with 6.3 TVR.

It looks as though the sea-saw battle will go on...

Preeti Keswani enters Miley Jab Hum Tum

It seems to be a Season of new entries in Star One's Miley Jab Hum Tum, as after the entry of Rahul Arora, it is the turn yet another new face to make her presence felt in the show.

The model turned actor Preeti Keswani will be entering the show. Her entry will be aired coming Monday.

On her character,her screen name is Sheena. She will be the next style statement in the college, and will be at par with Dia when it comes to look and style. She will prove to be a catalyst for Dia to get jealous.

Even though her richness, class and stature give an appearance as though she has attitude, she is very much positive at heart. As the story progresses, her presence will bring about a change in everyone. That's for everyone to watch out for.

The new comer Preeti Keswani said, "Sheena is a new entry to the college. She is very confident about herself, and has an aura about her. Initially, she comes across as the arrogant girl, but when she starts mingling with people, her niceness does come to the fore".

On the track, the actress quips, "Well, I cannot tell much as of now. But my first interaction happens with Samrat, and as the story moves there will be some positive vibes developing between them".

Vikrant Massey to enter Balika Vadhu.

The actor who got popular with the show Dharam Veer on NDTV Imagine, Vikrant Massey is back with a new show. The actor will soon be entering on COLORS No.1 show Balika Vadhu.

Just few days back, we had report about the entry of Rahul Lohani as the new guy in Gehna's life, and it now looks as though Sughna (Vibha Anand) who recently lost her husband will soon be getting a new partner.

Vikrant will be entering the show and will go on to play the love interest of Sughna. His character name is Krishna, but the story line post his entry has not been finalized yet.

The actor will be entering the show during IPL. Mostly it would be somewhere around May. The way in which he enters the house and his rapport with Sughna will be the high point of the show during the cricketing season.

It is heard that Vikrant was offered one of the lead roles in Nitin Desai's show on Sony, Rani Padmini of Chittod. He also had an offer from BAG films new venture on Star Plus.He had many offers, but then the role in Balika Vadhu interested him more. They had auditioned many people, but finally zeroed down on Vikrant for the role.

'DMG is a closed chapter for me' - Shilpa Anand

Shilpa Anand, the original Riddhima of Star One's Dill Mill Gayye has not been forgotten by her loyal fans, who even today demand her comeback into the show.

The entry of the third Riddhima in Jennifer Winget has really made her fans upset, as they feel that Shilpa Anand should have been brought back.

Shilpa Anand who categorically stated that, "I had no inclination to get back to Dill Mill Gayye. But I got a call last week, and the channel wanted me to get back to the show. However, the production house was not ready to pay me what I quoted".

When asked her about the money she wanted and what the producers did offer, Shilpa said, "I really do not want to talk about figures in the media circle".

When we asked her about reports that she quoted big money, she quips, "I have had some bad memories working with the unit and thought if I had to get back after all that, they had to pay me the price. Having said this, I also maintain that I did not quote that huge a sum. Anyways, it did not work out. But frankly speaking, it happened for the good as I did not want to get back to DMG. DMG for me is a closed chapter. When I was there, the show was a hit. Even though I have not really followed the show after that, I have heard that the show is not doing well now".

"In addition to this, I have had many problems in the past with the production house and did not want to get into a tangle yet again", adds Shilpa.

Tell her that her fans look forward to her comeback into the show even today, and she quips, "There is something called 'Destiny', and life around me has changed a lot in the past one year. I really feel bad for my fans who have loved me to no extent. I love all my fans, and I have personally got lot of love from the character of Riddhima. I wish the show all the best and viewers a happy viewing".

On life, Shilpa states, "I have not been in the country at all for the past few months. I had been to New york, and returned just a couple of weeks back. After coming back, it was heartening to know that DMG was calling me back (laughs)".

Life has been a roller coaster ride for the actress. "I actually ended up breaking relations with my boy friend Parikshit Sial. We had been dating for nearly two and half years, but we knew each other from many years. There were certain family issues, and at times you get to realize certain things much later. Also, he had other plans in life and hence we decided to part ways", explains the actress.

Shilpa says she has moved on in life and is looking forward to more happening things. "I will surely let you all know if I accept any project. After all, I want to make my fans happy again", says the actress as she signs off.

Dimple Jhangiani in Star One's 'Hum Dono Hai Alag Alag'

The decision of Dimple Jhangiani to move out of NDTV Imagine's Kitani Mohabbat Hai seems to have worked for the actress, as she has bagged a meaty role in Star One's yet another youth based show, produced by Playtime Creations.

Chahat Khanna and Garima had been finalized for the role but the channel wanted a better face to play the protagonists.

The title of the show which was tentatively kept as 'Humaari Jodiyaan' has been changed to 'Hum Dono Hai Alag Alag'. The show is a tale of two brothers of contrasting types; one is dumb while the other is shrewd and good looking. Yash Pandit will play the brother who is dumb while Manish Raisinghania plays the relatively better one.

Dimple will be cast opposite Yash Pandit while Manish will be opposite a new comer who is yet to be finalized.

Dimple said, "I had been waiting for Kitani for nearly six months, but then decided to move on as I was loosing out on quality roles and time. It was a mutual understanding with Balaji Telefilms and they were also fine with my decision. I am happy to have got this role. This is a youth-based show and is quite challenging, so I am far away from the usual rona-dhona.".

The show is slated to get a prime time slot and will launch post IPL.

Jennifer Winget, the new Dr. Riddhima.

Star One's very popular youth based show Dill Mill Gayye, produced by Cinevistaas will see a new Riddhima from April 13th, and taking over the mantle from Sukriti Khandpal is the charming and cute Jennifer Winget.

With this, the on screen pair of Karan Singh Grover and Jennifer whose chemistry was very much appreciated by viewers in Kasautii Zindagi Kii get together yet again to rekindle the past memories.

Talking about her entry in the show, Jennifer states, "It is great to be working with the Dill Mill Gayye team. Today is my first day of shoot, and I got a very warm welcome from the unit".

"Karan and I have been paired again after three long years. It feels nice to be working with him all over again; we have been great friends and our chemistry was very much appreciated in Kasautii. So we are looking forward to give our best", adds the new Dr. Riddhima.

Jennifer will be the third Riddhima in the show, after Shilpa Anand was replaced by Sukriti Khandpal nine months ago.

Commenting on the change in the lead character, EVP and GM of Star One, Mr, Ravi Menon said "After a memorable stint as Dr. Riddhima, Sukriti Khandpal has decided to move on from the Dill Mill Gayye family in search of other prospects. It was an amicable decision and with her departure, Jennifer Winget is the perfect choice for being the sweet, head over heels in love and innocent girl. We're sure she'll perfectly justify the role of Dr. Riddhima."

The replaced Sukriti Khandpal said "Well, the show was not going anywhere. The only progress in the story after I joined in was that, all got to know that Armaan and Riddhima were in love. As of now, I have few nice projects in my hand, and did not want to let go of it. I have no regrets of moving ahead; I know that I have given my best and have played the character to the best of my ability. I am happy that I have in the process garnered lot of appreciation from my fans. DMG has given me all the recognition it could have given, and there is nothing more that I can gain from it. Above all, I am happy for the fans of DMG who will now get a chance to see their third Riddhima. I had no adverses with Shilpa too, and even now I am glad that Jennifer has joined in".

Talking about the apprehensions of being the third Riddhima in the show, Jennifer states, "I will take this character as a very fresh one. It is like starting a new soap for me. I have no apprehensions whatsoever, and I would try my best to keep up with the real essence of the character. I know that with me coming in, the show will do well".

Well, we just hope the viewers now get tuned in to the new chemistry of Dr. Armaan and Riddhima...

Balaji’s come back into comedy, after Hum Paanch

Guess we have heard it right. Balaji who gave comedy a totally different meaning and concept by its very much loved show ‘Hum Paanch’ is venturing back into the comedy era.

A source from Balaji says, “Very soon, after IPL, Balaji will be coming up with this new comedy show. They are working on the script as of now. We are mostly hitting on established comic actors like Satish Shah. The casting will soon start once we are done with the script”.

When asked about which channel they will choose for their comic venture, the source replied, “We are in talks with a few channels but most probably we will fix up with Colors”.
